► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I started GRASP Confidence to share the transformative strategies from my international bestselling book, "How To GRASP Confidence & Own Your Power," with a broader audience. I have always been passionate about empowering others to build their confidence and achieve their goals and I knew podcasting would be the perfect medium to reach new audiences and help more people.
Podcasting felt like the natural choice to reach entrepreneurs, authors, and professional speakers who seek to elevate their confidence, success, and purpose. I have always been an avid podcast listener, appreciating how this format allows for in-depth discussions and real-world applications.
My initial goal was to create a platform where listeners could gain practical insights from world-class guests and experts, guiding them on their journey to a more confident and fulfilled life. We launched the podcast in September of 2023 and it took about 60 solid days of planning, guest scheduling, recording, and editing to release the first episode. The response has been incredibly rewarding, and I'm excited to continue sharing valuable content with our dedicated audience.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
Finding the time for the podcast has been a balancing act but thankfully, I run a branding and marketing agency that produces podcasts which made it much easier to launch. We release episodes weekly, sometimes more than one per week and each episode typically takes about 4 hours to produce from start to finish.
As for balancing the podcast with a day job, it's about prioritization and time management. As entrepreneurs, we carve out time to meet with prospective clients anyway so I have found that the best way to manage your podcast and build relationships at the same time is to interview your prospects and have them as guests on your show. This way, it adds no extra time to your busy schedule and it builds lasting relationships at the same time (everyone wins)!
Regarding funding, we secured initial support through sponsorship and personal investment. It's a continuous effort to explore partnerships aligned with our podcast's mission and audience.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
Podcasting has been incredibly rewarding beyond financial gain. While we do accept sponsorships, they weren't secured until our second season. Initially, we explored alternative revenue streams like affiliate partnerships and merchandise sales to support production costs.
Our first sponsorship came about through networking within our niche community, despite having modest download numbers at the time. Nowadays, we continue to find sponsors through networking, leveraging our growing audience and engagement metrics.
In terms of benefits, podcasting has enriched my career by expanding my network and establishing authority in my field. It's also fostered meaningful connections with listeners and guests, offering continuous learning opportunities and personal growth.

► How does your podcasting process look like?
Tools and Services: I use a professional microphone setup for recording, along with audio editing software like Adobe Audition for post-production. For scheduling and organizing episodes, I rely on tools like Calendly and Trello to streamline workflow.
Finding Guests: Guests are sourced through a combination of networking, referrals, and sometimes direct outreach based on their expertise and relevance to our audience. Platforms like LinkedIn and professional networks are invaluable for connecting with potential guests.
Episode Preparation: Each episode begins with thorough research on the guest's background and topic. I guide the conversation while allowing for spontaneous discussion and never send guests questions ahead of time because those types of interviews tend to be stuffy with low engagement.
Interview Format: Most interviews are conducted remotely via platforms like Streamyard ensuring flexibility and accessibility for guests regardless of location.
This process ensures each episode is well-prepared and professionally produced, contributing to a seamless and engaging listener experience.
► How do you market your show?
Marketing my podcast involves a blend of strategic approaches aimed at maximizing reach and engagement.
Listener Acquisition: Our listeners discover the show primarily through podcast platforms like iTunes, Spotify, and Google Podcasts, as well as through social media channels such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. While specific breakdowns vary, we see substantial traction from podcast directories and social media referrals.
Marketing Channels: Organic promotion plays a pivotal role in our strategy. I leverage social media extensively, sharing episode highlights, guest insights, and behind-the-scenes content across platforms. This approach not only engages current listeners but also attracts new followers interested in our podcast's themes.
Effectiveness: Among marketing channels, social media stands out for its ability to foster community engagement and amplify our message. Platforms like LinkedIn allow us to connect directly with our target audience, encouraging dialogue and sharing episodes across networks.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
For aspiring podcasters, I would emphasize two critical elements based on my journey: strategy and consistency. These are often overlooked but essential for long-term success.
1. Strategy and Purpose: Before diving into podcasting, ask yourself how it aligns with your brand or business objectives and what value it brings to your audience. Starting a podcast solely for the sake of it can lead to scattered efforts and limited impact. Define your niche, audience, and goals clearly to guide your content creation and outreach strategies effectively.
2. Consistency is Key: Consistency builds audience trust and engagement. Whether it's episode release schedules, content quality, or promotional efforts, maintaining a regular presence is crucial. It sets expectations for your listeners and demonstrates your commitment to delivering valuable content consistently.
Lessons Learned: One lesson I've learned is the importance of building relationships within your niche. Networking with other podcasters, guests, and listeners not only expands your reach but also enriches your content through diverse perspectives and collaborations.
