► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I’ve been listening to podcasts for years—way before I even started my own back in 2019, which was right before podcasting really took off. I’ve always loved how podcasts can be so personal, educational, and easily accessible, and starting my own just felt like the right way to bring together everything I’m passionate about. With my background as a Holistic Health Coach and personal trainer, plus all the certifications I’ve gathered over the years, I wanted to create something that could genuinely help people find wellness practices that work for them—on a truly bio-individual level.
The idea of starting the podcast had been in the works for months before I finally worked up the courage to release that first episode. I recorded it in my closet with wired iPhone headphones plugged into my laptop, running Audacity (a free audio program) because I didn’t have the budget for anything fancy. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing, but I’ve always been resourceful and make the most of what I have. That’s been part of the journey too—embracing the imperfections and just getting started.
My goal from the start has been to keep educating people on holistic health and wellbeing in a way that feels approachable and empowering. The Holistic Ritual allows me to blend all my knowledge and experiences to help others explore a lifestyle that truly aligns with their mind, body, and spirit.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
honestly go through seasons with the show. After starting the podcast in 2019, I ended up taking a three-year break shortly after COVID hit due to some major life changes that really shook me mentally. Now that I’m back at it, I treat the show like any other work deadline—I set a schedule and do my best to stick to it. Right now, I don’t have any sponsors or external funding, but if anyone’s open to collaborating or picking up a holistic wellness show, my email is always open!
I aim to release eight episodes per season, dropping a new one every two weeks. From start to finish, it takes me about 3-5 days to produce each episode. Luckily, podcasting fits well into my day job since I’m a podcast producer and content director. I love the entire production process, from recording to editing—sometimes just as much as the recording itself!
As for funding, I cover everything out of my own pocket, but I’ve found ways to keep it affordable. My main costs are a hosting platform and an online recording service. I started with simple equipment—your iPhone is honestly an incredible tool—but I’ve stepped up my game over time to offer high-quality video episodes. The show was audio-only when I first launched it, but as podcasting has evolved, I’ve embraced the shift to video, so now The Holistic Ritual offers both formats.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
I’m open to sponsorships, but only from brands that truly align with the show’s holistic foundation. I’m very selective about who I partner with because I want to ensure that anything I promote reflects the values of the podcast. While the show currently doesn’t have any sponsors, I’ve built a community of over 15K followers across four different social media platforms. Through that presence, I often receive offers for influencer campaigns, so I’ve been able to collaborate in ways that align with my mission, even outside of the podcast.
As far as personal benefits, podcasting has never really been about what I get out of it. The real motivation has always been helping others—those who want to embrace a holistic lifestyle but don’t know where to begin, or who are struggling with mental health, as I did in the past. If the show helps just one person find clarity, balance, or healing, then it’s worth every bit of effort.
That said, being consistent with the podcast has positioned me as an authority in the wellness space, which helps me build credibility and create meaningful connections with others in the industry. But at the heart of it, The Holistic Ritual is and always will be about giving back and supporting others on their wellness journeys.

► How does your podcasting process look like?
My podcasting process is fairly straightforward but thoughtfully planned to ensure the best quality. I’ve used Buzzsprout as my hosting platform from day one, and they’ve been fantastic! For editing, I started with Audacity back when I was doing audio-only episodes, but now I use Descript for more polished editing and Canva to create visuals and promotional materials for each episode.
When it comes to guests, many are connections I’ve made on Instagram or TikTok, or they’re friends from the wellness community I’ve met over the years. Preparing each episode always starts with writing a loose outline. Since I have ADHD, this helps keep me on track and prevents me from going off on tangents (though sometimes that still happens!). I also surround myself with crystals that support communication and make sure I’ve had a brain-boosting meal—blueberries and mushroom supplements (the legal kind!) really help me stay sharp and focused.
I do a mix of solo episodes and interviews. While I love in-person conversations, most of my interviews are recorded virtually using Riverside, which has been a great solution for guests who are located in different parts of the world.
► How do you market your show?
Most of my audience finds the show through social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok, where I do the majority of my marketing. These platforms have been key in building my community, and I share regular updates, snippets from episodes, and engaging wellness content to keep listeners connected. Based on what I’ve seen, most of my listeners stream the podcast on iTunes and Spotify, which are the primary platforms for the show.
At this point, I haven’t run any paid ads, but that’s something I’m considering as the show gains more momentum. In the future, I plan to explore Google and Facebook ads to reach a broader audience and attract even more listeners. For now, organic engagement and word of mouth are the main drivers of growth.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
My biggest advice for new podcasters is: just start. Don’t wait for the perfect equipment, studio, or timing—use what you have and get your voice out there. The beauty of podcasting is that it’s accessible to everyone, and the only way to grow is by starting.
One thing that really surprised me on this journey is just how supportive the podcasting community is. Every podcaster I’ve met has had this incredible “there’s room for everyone” mindset. It’s such a collaborative space where people genuinely want to help each other grow, and I hope that spirit stays strong as the industry evolves.
There are also so many free resources out there to help, whether you’re launching on a budget or looking to level up your show. From blogs and YouTube tutorials to podcasts about podcasting, there’s no shortage of valuable information. One of my favorite parts of this process has been learning from others—there’s always something new to discover, and the journey is as rewarding as the destination.
